Valley Cemetery
The Valley Cemetery is owned and managed by the City of Valley, and is governed by the City Council through the Cemetery Board appointed by the Mayor. The present cemetery site has been in continual use since March 1889 and reflects the rich and varied history of Western Douglas County.
Cemetery plots are available at $350/plot for Valley residents or $450/plot for non-residents.

Plots must be marked before any burial. Please contact the city office to arrange to have the plot marked and to pay the $50 marking fee.
Cemetery Rules:
1. Artificial decorations are prohibited April to November 1, excluding holidays.
2. All decorations must be removed by lot owners ten (10) days after placement. The City of Valley is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged decorations.
3. Plantings on or above graves are not permitted.
4. Fences, grave frames, enclosures, terracing, or raising of graves is not permitted.
5. Please use the trash barrels provided.
6. No pets, horses, or livestock are allowed on cemetery grounds.
7. Interment requires concrete or equal vaults, other than for cremation.
8. All stones are to be installed at the west end (head) of the grave.
9. No markers or monuments may be set on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays unless permitted in writing by the City of Valley.
10. All footings shall be appropriate to the size of the marker.
11. All foundations shall be placed on solid ground and shall not interfere with further grave openings.
12. Stone or monument work shall not be permitted until full payment for the lot is received.
13. There will be no mausoleums in the cemetery.
14. The number of cremains per plot shall not exceed two (2). The City of Valley shall be notified of any placement of cremains.
15. No pet remains shall be interred in the cemetery.
16. Monuments should reflect good taste and not detract from the appearance of the grounds.
