Construction Notice - Reichmuth Rd Water Main Replacement - Beginning Monday 06/29 lasting through the end of July

The City of Valley Contractor, Vrba Construction, Inc., will be replacing old water main pipes along Reichmuth Road as highlighted below. The Contractor will install new water main pipe, make connections to existing pipes, and connection existing residential water services. This project is part of the City’s overall plan to replace aging infrastructure, improve the water quality and provide reliable service delivery to the residents. Construction for this phase of the project is expected to start the week of June 29th and last one month.
Construction will require portions of the street and sidewalk to be closed but access to homes and businesses will be maintained unless directly contacted. Temporary water shutdowns will occur while connections to existing water mains are conducted. Residents and businesses will be noticed when these occur. Residents and businesses are advised to use caution throughout the construction zones and follow temporary traffic control signs throughout the construction process. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the project.
FACTS
• Existing water main age back to the early 1900’s
• New PVC water main will replace cast iron water main
• Brief interruptions in the water service will occur. Affected residents will be notified in advance before any shut-offs occur. Unforeseen disruptions may occur, the Contractor will be on-site immediately to restore water service.
• Open cut trench and horizontal boring will be the installation techniques used on the project.
• Surface restoration, including concrete replacement and turf grass, will occur after the work is complete.
