Get Involved

Looking to get involved with the library? We have several options! Take a look below for information on Friends of the Valley Public Library, Valley Public Library Foundation, donating items to the library, and how to become a library volunteer.

 

Becoming a Library Volunteer

Community members, who are at least 14 years old, may volunteer at the library! Library volunteers do tasks such as shelving materials, preparing craft materials, assisting with programs, and other special projects. If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by the library or give us a call at 402-359-9924.

Donating Materials

Valley Public Library accepts donations of materials in good condition (no tears, liquid damage, mold, etc). The library accepts books, audiobook CDs, DVDs, board games, puzzles, and magazines. We are unable to accept encyclopedias, textbooks, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, or music CDs. To donate items, please bring them into the library during our normal operating hours. Please do not place library donations in our outdoor book drop. Items that are not selected for the library collection are automatically forwarded to the Friends of Valley Public Library for their annual Book Sale.

Friends of Valley Public Library

Friends of Valley Public Library is a non-profit library support organization. Friends members volunteer at the library, and raise money to support library programs and needs. Their annual Book and Bake Sale each December raises funds that support the library all year long. Interested in joining the Friends of Valley Public Library? Valley Public Library Foundation

Valley Public Library foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded to assist Valley Public Library with large projects and needs. In the past, Valley Public Library Foundation has assisted with fundraising for building renovation, purchased furniture, purchased computers, and supported library programming. Donations to Valley Public Library Foundation can be dropped off at the library, or mailed to 232 N Spruce St, PO Box 353 Valley, NE 68064 c/o VPL Foundation.
