VALLEY, NE.—April 26, 2024—City of Valley Police Department retirement and K9 Sonic update.
Effective April 30, 2024, Chief James Deemer has retired from the Valley Police Department. We thank him for his dedicated service to law enforcement and the City of Valley.
K9 Sonic is in the process of being transferred to another officer to complete training and certification. More details regarding the timing of having the K9 program fully functional will be released as they are available.
Public safety continues to be the top priority for the Valley Police department. Interim Chief Brett Smith and Mayor Cindy Grove have worked closely with other officers and the Douglas County Sheriff's Department during the period of transition to ensure there is adequate coverage to protect the community and our residents.
